`Tracking the activities of MPs and MLAs`: A workshop for journalists

Centre for Public Policy Research and PRS Legislative Research organized a workshop for journalists on’ Tracking the activities of MPs and MLAs at Abad Plaza on 10th March 2009. The workshop was attended by the representatives of the state and national media.

Mr. D Dhanuraj, Chairman, CPPR, in his welcome note emphasized the role of media in information dissemination. Mr. Madhavan, Head of Research and Mr. Chakshu Roy, Research Analyst from PRS legislative Research conducted the workshop and shared the details with the audience. They shared details on how journalists can track and report the activities of the Members of Parliament. They also elaborated on work report of the Members of the Legislative Assembly in the states. It was also brought to the notice of the audience that official performance of the MPs is available on the internet. These included the details of their attendance, questions asked, utilization of the funds under MPLADS etc. The presentation was followed by an interactive session.
