A focus group discussion was organised by the Kerala Management Association (KMA) in partnership with the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) on ‘Decriminalisation of Business Laws in Kerala’ on March 1, 2024 at the Management House, Kochi.
The discussion was led by Anu Anna Jo, Senior Associate – Research at CPPR, and was aimed at addressing the following questions:

• How are businesses affected by the criminal provisions in the state business laws?
• What alternative mechanisms can be explored for reforming the laws?

The event was presided over by KMA President A Balakrishnan and CPPR Chairman D Dhanuraj and the gathering had representatives from various stakeholder groups, such as bureaucrats, businesspeople, and advocates, among others.
