CPPR in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, South Asia is conducting one-day workshops for college students of Kerala institutions/ colleges/universities. The workshop shall be an intensive training and knowledge dissemination program that shall equip them to understand the impact of the classical liberalism school of thought on public policy.

The workshop offers alternative thinking to the public perceptions of liberty. It contextualizes the grand theories with public policy case studies, providing basic information about the economy: what well-functioning markets accomplish, their limits as well as an exploration into the impact of government intervention through policies. Discussions on liberty are often restricted to the myopic ‘socialism versus capitalism’ viewpoint, leading to misconceptions and false narratives on libertarianism. The workshops will focus on introducing and engaging the students to look at the political economy from a classical liberal perspective. It will empower the participants to be critical thinkers with a nuanced understanding of the market economy and the innovative solutions it offers especially in the context of public policy.

Objectives of the Workshop

  1. To inculcate the spirit of libertarian ideas in the coming generations; the best way to educate them is to facilitate a new way of thinking by conducting in-person college workshops

  1. To ensure that participants have the knowledge they need to form independent opinions and make informed decisions about the market economy

Article Writing Competition

As part of the College Workshop, CPPR is organizing an article writing competition. The participants of the workshop will write an article on Public Policy or the Role of Markets based on the workshop.

Selected 10 articles will be published in a compendium.
