Book Discussion

“Life, liberty and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.” – Bastiat

CPPR is organising a discussion of the French classic, ‘The Law’, the most popular work of French economist, statesman and author, Frederic Bastiat.

5.30 pm, Saturday, April 1, 2017

Circuit Creative, LIG 775, Panampilly Nagar, Cochin

‘The Law’ explains the functions of law and how rule of law affects a society, when law becomes a weapon of those in power. Bastiat wrote ‘The Law’ in 1850. Though more than a century has passed, Bastiat’s arguments in the book still hold true. The book discussion is intended to start a conversation on the subject of law and its functions in the current scenario.

Madhu S, Director (Research and Projects), CPPR will lead the discussion.

We hope you will join us and be a part of a lively discussion.
