Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) organised an interactive session with the members of the Vyapari Vyavasaya Samithi (VVS), Ernakulam, on June 15, 2017. The officeholders and members of VVS attended. The session began with a brief introduction of the various provisions of the Model Act, followed by an interactive session. While many participants expressed their concerns about employing women in night shifts, a few of them gave tepid responses, stating that the step will only help the big players in the organised retail sector.
