CPPR, through its Academy, offers training and development opportunities in the form of internships, short-term courses and workshops to undergraduate, graduate students and mid-career professionals looking to engage with the public policy space.



CPPR Internship in Public Policy Research

A highly rigorous and competitive programme which spans 45–180 days. During this period, interns get an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and training by working on live projects under CPPR.

MA in Public Policy and Governance (MA-PPG)

The Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth introduces MA in Public Policy and Governance in collaboration with the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) at its Kochi campus. This is a two-year full time master’s degree programme and shall be the first of its kind in Kerala. An effective training in theory complemented by learning experiences from real-world policy challenges will help the participants address contemporary political, economic and social challenges in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Certificate Course Programmes

The Certificate Course Programmes offer beginner to advanced level courses on Public Policy and related areas including Urban Studies, Comparative Policies in education, health, livelihood, market, trade, finance and economics, and Changing Dynamics in the Global Political Economy. The courses are curated as self-paced, pre-recorded modules enabling you to learn at your convenience. Learning materials and references will be made available to you through the Learning Management System. We will assess your learning levels continuously and after completing all the sessions, you will be awarded a course completion certificate.

GPS-Online

GPS Online will give an opportunity for aspiring global leaders to attend the most sought-after CPPR- Global Policy School remotely. Through an activity-oriented experiential learning capsule in the online space, CPPR will train a select batch of 30 young thought leaders. GPS consists of a comprehensive module of 50 hours, comprising discussions on policies, politics and freedom, advanced level data analytics, research techniques and tools, etc. You are expected to devote 5 Hours per week for 10 weeks to engage with a rigorous inter-disciplinary pedagogy consisting of webinars, workshops, interactive sessions and team exercises. Sessions will be engaged by senior bureaucrats, eminent policy makers and expert researchers.
    Upon successful completion, you will be awarded,
  • A course completion certificate
  • One-year access to reading materials
  • One-year access to CPPR library
  • Mentorship from senior members of CPPR for a mutually decided period

E-Policyshala

E-Policyshala is a one-day online workshop that offers a general understanding of Public Policy research and its relevance in decision-making to students and young professionals. It is offered to educational institutions to raise awareness and educate the young citizens of our country on the policy making process. E-Policyshala will have few custom-tailored courses depending on the cohort’s field of interest. This programme is offered to engineering graduates, management students, journalists and social science students. Institutions can apply online and suggest their area of interest for the workshop. If not part of any group, participants can also register individually when applications are invited. Workshop will have 4 sessions of 45 minutes.
Each session will be in the format of live webinars.
    1. Introduction to Public Policy Framework
    2. Policy writing and communication
    3. Policy Analysis and Evaluation
    4. Politics behind Policies

Upon completion of the programme,
  • Participation certificates will be issued to the students and institutions
  • Students will develop expertise in one or more substantive policy fields of their choice that will equip them for attaining their professional goals and making an impact.
  • Students will learn how to employ adaptive problem-solving.

CPPR Public Policy Research Methods School

A two-week capsule workshop that imparts research skills: qualitative and quantitative to undergraduate, graduate students and mid-career professionals. Conducted in partnership with Atlas Leadership Academy, the programme has so far hosted 49 participants from 35 countries.

Semester at Sea (SAS) programme

Every year, for the past six years, CPPR hosts students of SAS, a unique, multiple country study-abroad programme which is conducted aboard a ship that docks at several locations during the course period. During their time in Kochi, CPPR co-hosts a module with SAS. The University of Virginia is the programme’s academic sponsor.

CPPR’s Finishing School for Law

The programme aims to instil in freshly graduated law students the confidence and courage they need to start a new career. In its third installment, the Finishing School aims to polish students up on the finer points of social life which is just as important as the academic rigour they are put through in law school—from mastering the right handshake to speaking confidently in public.
