Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) endeavours in areas like research promotion, knowledge dissemination, capacity building, grass roots initiatives etc. This, the Centre believes, would be a humble beginning towards its larger efforts aimed at the creation of an equitable, socially just and environmentally sound state enriched by democratic and secular principles.
The Centre is located in Kochi and is constituted as a Public Charitable Trust for the purpose of carrying out its objects for the benefit of the public at large as beneficiaries, irrespective of class, community, creed, so that such benefits may be given directly by the trust to the beneficiaries. CPPR is a growing organization and has a pool of talent from various parts of the country, who are experienced in handling socio-economic research projects. They are assisted by experts and luminaries in their respective fields. The executive board of the Centre comprises of five individuals, who have experience in various fields and have graduated from leading universities in the country.
1. RESEARCH ASSOCIATES
Civitas Consultancies Pvt Ltd (www.civitas.in), which is based out of Kochi, offers Urban and Legal Solutions, as well as studies on market feasibility. It is a growing institution with its research wing in the Centre for Public Policy Research. Civitas seeks dynamic young professionals who have relevant prior experience in market-oriented research projects.
Work Profile
1) Research and Writing • Conduct research related to socio-economic and political policies and for existing projects • Write articles, briefings and background notes for publication, website or briefing purposes
2) Projects • Conceptualise new projects in accordance with the demand of socio-economic and political scenario • Manage projects by efficient utilisation of resources: time, money and people • Work with the Marketing team to transform the projects into a revenue generating mode • Meet the targets set by Civitas
3) Team Building • Forecast additional number and type of manpower requirements according to the new project requirements • Build a team of committed employees who will work in alignment with the goals of the organisation
4) Supporting networking and advocacy (in coordination with the Marketing Team) • Help organise advocacy meetings, strategy and networking meeting and other events • Attend meetings with the Government officials, media and the civic society organisations • Help build relationships with decision makers and key stakeholders • Provide input into advocacy and network strategies
5) Supporting efficient functioning of the organisation • Provide support to colleagues within the team • Assist with the smooth running of the office • Attend relevant seminars, conferences and meetings, and present the learning back to the organisation afterwards
Qualifications and Skills:
• Post Graduation qualification in economics/ mathematics/ development studies/ business economics/ statistics or a graduate degree in engineering. • At least three years of market-driven research in different domains • Proven research skills and the ability to work with spreadsheets and conduct data analysis • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Should be good with numbers and analytics • Good information technology skills • Flexibility and willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks • Sound knowledge in statistics and functional knowledge of SPSS or other relevant software • Leadership, managerial and organizational experience of working with multi-location field teams • Should have published at least three articles in local newspapers or magazines or should have been a blogger for the past two years • Demonstrated ability to work towards and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization • Fluency in English
Location: The role will be based in Kochi, but will involve extensive travel to project/programme locations, as and when required. Duration: A minimum commitment of 1 year is necessary. The first three months will be probationary. Compensation: Negotiable; decent in the sector.

2. PR INTERN
CPPR is looking for interns to assist with Public Relations for a minimum period of one month.
Work Profile
The PR intern will assist in the following duties: • Coordinate PR for CPPR events • Identify online and offline networking opportunities • Increase the organisation’s online visibility with the help of social networking websites • Liaise with the media to publish articles, research papers. Follow up with the media is essential • Monitor press coverage received • Update the PR and media database • Upload event listings on identified/related networks • Strategise and suggest events for the organisation
Qualifications: Should have a masters degree or is enrolled in a masters programme in one of the following or related fields: Public relations, journalism, advertising, business or a related field.
Required Skills

3. PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Centre for Public Policy Research seeks a dynamic project management professional with relevant experience in portfolio management of a company.
Work Profile
Portfolio Manager of the organization shall manage the organization's project portfolio, which typically includes prioritizing projects, allocating resources to projects, and tracking the performance of the projects. A key focus is ensuring that the overall performance of different projects is in alignment with the goals of the organization. In addition, he/she as Portfolio Manager will collect and distribute data for reviewing, assessing, and managing individual projects to ensure that they are meeting their expected contributions to the portfolio.
A successful Portfolio manager will have excellent communication, presentation, decision-making, creativity, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as a good grasp of various networks that can be used for the organization. He/ she shall be also be responsible along with other members of the top management for forecasting and estimating annual revenue generation, estimating man power requirements accordingly and meeting the revenue and project targets to ensure growth of the organization.
This position requires relevant experience in portfolio management and networking. The job involves (but is not limited to): - Work with team members on various projects and programs of the organization to ensure that the projects and programs are implemented with optimum use of resources like time, money and people. -He shall be responsible to identify and assess any shortcomings in particular project/program implementation, analyze its cause and rectify it with minimum amount of time in coordination with the project/program teams - Innovate and conceive new projects and streamline them to the portfolio management process - Understand and assimilate the finer details of the projects and programs
Qualifications and Skills:
• Retired after a career in Public Sector, Indian Civil Service or Indian Military Service. • Experience in Portfolio management of a thematic company. • Leadership, managerial and organizational experience working with multi-location field teams is necessary for this position. • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills. • He should have managed a team of more than 2 people • He should have coordinated and managed at least three projects at a time • He should understand and apply relevant financial controls and measures in his job. • Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications. • Demonstrated ability to work in and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization. • Fluency in English a must.
