CPPR is assisting the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), New Delhi, on an exploratory study on the state of health insurance schemes in Kerala. In the backdrop of the state’s significant progress in achieving good health indicators, CPPR will carry out a detailed study of the realities of health financing in Kerala. The findings of the study would be relevant, due to the high contribution of out-of-pocket expenditure towards health financing in the country. The paper would focus on the design, implementation and efficiency of government health insurance schemes in the state.
