Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) and Atlas Leadership Academy invites applications for its prestigious global event, the CPPR-Atlas Policy School 2015. The Policy School offers aspiring researchers a two-week intensive training in methods of Public Policy Research, at Cochin, during the most endearing and enjoyable season of the year. In the past, CPPR in collaboration with Atlas has successfully conducted Policy Schools that have won the acclaim of participants from 32 countries.

Who can apply?

– Candidates having keen interest in public policy research
– Candidates with a minimum of 3 years experience in research will be given preference
– Should have a valid undergraduate degree
– Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in think tanks
– Should be proficient in English Language (spoken and written)
– Able to arrange travel documents from their country of arrival

The organizers will issue each participant with a call letter and offer partial/ full travel grant, if required.

What does the course cover?
– General Aspects of Research Methodology
– Research Analysis Strategies and Data Designing
– Design and Evaluation of Public Policies
– Importance of Legal Sources in formulating Public Policy
– New Public Management and Statistical Methods
– How to write policy brief

Upon completion of the program, participants are required to submit one of more of the following:
– Research paper on their Central Research Question (6-8 months after the program)
– An op-ed in leading national or regional dailies, magazines (2 months after the program)
– A feature article in a journal, magazine or newspaper (2 months after the program)
– Participants are also expected to submit a report on how they have put to practice their learnings from the program. (within 6 months of the program)

 

About the Organizers:

The program is jointly organized by CPPR and the Atlas Leadership Academy. The Atlas Leadership Academy (ALA) provides a robust series of credit-based training opportunities that allow you to sharpen your skills in management, communication and fundraising while building your free market organization. Participants in this course will earn two credits within the Atlas Leadership Academy. For more information and to learn how to earn more credits, visit AtlasNetwork.org/ALA.
